Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) - Business Category

The Business Investor Stream of the MPNP is aimed at qualified international business investors and entrepreneurs who have a minimum net work of CAD 500,000.

Manitoba's PNP is looking to recruit and nominate qualified business professionals from overseas who have the intention and financial capacity to move to the province and establish or purchase a business or create a partnership with an existing business in Manitoba.

 

There are two pathways:

  1. Entrepreneur Pathway
  2. Farm Investor Pathway

Entrepreneur Pathway

 

This category is for qualified business professionals from overseas who have the intention and financial capacity to move to the province and establish or purchase a business or create a partnership with an existing business in Manitoba.

Priority is given to candidates starting businesses outside Winnipeg.

 

Criteria:

  • Minimum Official Languages Proficiency: CLB5;
  • Minimum net worth: CAD 500,000;
  • Experience: Minimum of three years of full-time work experience in the past five years either as an active business owner or working in a senior management role of a successful business. Must have at least 33% ownership to qualify for points;
  • Minimum investment: CAD 250,000 for businesses in the Manitoba Capital Region, or CAD 150,000 if a business is outside of the Manitoba Capital Region. Investments must be made in an eligible business and create or maintain at least one job for a Canadian citizen or a Permanent Resident in Manitoba (excluding owners of the business and/or their close relatives); and
  • Education: minimum Canadian high school certificate equivalent.

Farm Investor Pathway

 

This pathway allows applicants with farm business experience and sufficient capital to immigrate to Manitoba to establish and operate a farm business in the province, producing primary products consistent with the province's current farm industry.

 

Criteria:

  • Minimum net worth: CAD 500,000;
  • Experience: Minimum of three years of farm management or ownership and operation experience supported by valid documents; and
  • Minimum investment: Minimum CAD 300,000 in rural Manitoba and must be in eligible tangible assets. Investments in a farm business operated primarily to derive passive investment income or speculative purposes are not eligible
